There is an interesting discussion going on at BitchPh.D. regarding how rural areas and urban areas voted in this presidential election.
I can't argue that westerners have a tendency to resent urban opinion of their lifestyles and views of the environment to their own peril. Everyone becomes so angry that the other disagrees that they begin generalizing each other. C'mon, people; can't we all just get along?
Appearantly not. The local news reported last night that the GOP in Montana is accusing the Monana media of being liberal. The GOP resents the fact that a democrat won the race for governor, with his lieutenant govenor being a republican! The so-called 'leader' (Possibly the most inarticulate man in the state.) of the Montana GOP has an interview where he basically did nothing but say the democrats would ruin the Montana budget, throw out everything decent that makes this state a wonderful place to live.
Well, when he puts it that way...I just want strangle him and scream, "Get a grip! Democrats are NOT the anitchrist!" Has our politics really comes to this? Name calling and total distrust that anyone but us has sincere concern for what we value? I've seen children use better judgement in regards to disagreements. Where is the scolding parent for the world's biggest superpower?

It's official! I have completed and submitted my first application to an MFA in writing program, at the University Michigan, Ann Arbor. I love the sound of 'Ann Arbor'. It just sounds beautiful.
And, just in case you were unaware of how irreverent (Yes, that is how you spell 'irreverent'. I looked it up. That is a lot of 'e's and 'r's.) I really am, I can't help but find this comic extremely amusing. I love the series about the coporate tax cap in Iraq. Hit the "get your war on" link.
